Information we collect

• Account information (optional). The app works without an account. If you choose to create one, we collect your email address and a password to sign you in. Passwords are never stored in readable form; they are handled by our authentication provider, Supabase.
• Camera and photo library access. If you choose to take or select a photo to turn into a recipe, the app accesses your camera or photo library only when you actively use that feature. Photos you take are stored on your device and are not uploaded anywhere except as described below.
• Content you submit for recipe import. When you paste a link or take a photo to import a recipe, that link, the page or video details, or the photo is sent to our server and then to OpenAI to extract a structured recipe. For YouTube links, our server also retrieves the video's public title and description from YouTube. This content is processed to build your recipe and is not kept by us afterward.
• Technical information. Our server host receives your IP address with each import request. We use it only to limit abuse (for example, capping how many imports can be made in a short time).

What stays on your device

Your saved recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, and notes are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, back up, or have access to this data. If you delete the app or reset app data, this content is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Third parties we share data with

• Supabase handles authentication and stores the email address of anyone who creates an account. See Supabase's privacy policy.
• OpenAI processes recipe links, page content, and photos you submit for import. See OpenAI's privacy policy.
• YouTube (Google) provides public video details when you import a YouTube link. See Google's privacy policy.
• Render hosts our server.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.

Data retention and deletion

Recipe content lives on your device and is deleted whenever you delete it, reset app data, or uninstall the app. To delete an account and its email address, see how to delete your account.

Children's privacy

Rasoi Notepad is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
